Eletrosul is a public company controlled by Eletrobras and under the Ministry of Mines and Energy. Established in 1968 and authorized to operate by Decree no. 64,395, is a mixed capital company privately held. It operates in the areas of generation, transmission and sale of electricity.
Additionally, it invests heavily in research and development to foster the use of alternative energy sources and diversifying the Brazilian energy matrix.
Headquartered in Florianópolis, the state capital of Santa Catarina, the company has projects in the three southern states (Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul), Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Pará and Rondonia.

Transmission and Generation
In the transmission business, the company connects the sources of electricity to the consumer markets and enables the import and export of energy to the other Mercosur countries.
In the generation, invests in energy production 100% renewable with the implementation of hydroelectric plants, small hydropower plants, wind farms, solar plants and other alternative sources.
The System Security
The generation and transmission assets of the company are controlled by the Eletrosul System Operation Center (Cose), according to the procedures defined by the National Electric System Operator (ONS). All interventions are analyzed by a specialized team to ensure the security and system availability.
